The Biggest Aramaic Music Festival in Lebanon
On the first, second and third of august Mr. Roni Doumit Harb arranged the biggest music festival for Aramaic Syriac music in Lebanon. The festival was the first in its kind and it got to be a success despite many difficulties. The place of the festival was in the Maronite village of Tannourine in the northern part of the Lebanese Mountain. The normal village people were very happy to see this event taking place in their village. One of the goals for the festival was to take the Aramaic identity back to the Lebanon Mountain and this is exactly what happened. In the festival there were dance, music and songs from Qamishli and Lebanon. There were also documentary movies about our people in Iraq and Turkey. All that in addition to a few seminars, mainly one by the great doctor Josef Asmar. The next step is to create a committee for Aramaic festivals in Lebanon and soon you will be able to hear about new events coming up in Lebanon. With all our thankfulness and appreciation to the people that came to the festival and all our love to those that couldn't make it. We can declare the first Aramaic music festival in Lebanon and the biggest in the world as finished and we can promise you now that the preparations for the next festival have already started.
